Ingredients: Sencha green tea, rose petals, strawberry leaves, natural cherry flavoring

Cup Characteristics: The tea tends light liquoring, fresh and smooth with reasonable depth and body. The cherry flavouring and subtle rose hints give the tea a wonderful exotic character.

Options: Excellent to make an iced tea with some organic honey or a pinch of sugar

Benefit: Sencha green tea has very high antioxidant properties and helps to increase your immunity. While Vitamins C and E are well-known antioxidants, the levels present in Sencha green tea are hundreds of times more powerful than Vitamin C and twenty five times more powerful than Vitamin E when it comes to protecting the immune system. Among many other benefits that green tea possesses are lowering high blood pressure and reducing overall cholesterol. These make green tea highly effective in preventing heart disease and strokes. Green tea can regulate blood sugar levels in people with diabetes and can actually prevent the onset of the disease. It can also prevent and treat cancer as well as acne.

Fun to know: Hunan Province produces some excellent Japanese style green teas. Early in the new season the tea is a bright emerald green and has the best flavour noted by a spring fresh character with pungency and body. [In Hunan the tea starts growing about March 15th, and between then and the end of April the quality is very good. Once you pass April, the quality plummets on account of the volume of leaf taken in and the bushes growing too quickly. Our policy is that we only buy green tea grown between March 15 and April 15 - you will taste our quality and dedication to better tea when you compare with other similarly graded teas.

Tokyo is the cultural centre of Japan. During the springtime this area of Japan is ablaze with the new season cherry blossoms and the air is filled with sweet aroma. Sencha is commonly used in Japanese tea ceremonies marking events of personal importance. Therefore, we decided to blend Sencha with rose petals and intended to simulate these delicate cherry blossoms and the flavour is reminiscent of the beautiful smells that waft on the springtime breezes. What a wonderful tea for the season!
